UNITED PLASTICS GROUP, INC. APPOINTS ROBERT ALVAREZ
AS VICE PRESIDENT OF TECHNOLOGY


WESTMONT, IL – June 15, 2000 --- United Plastics Group, Inc., a full service manufacturer of plastic products for the electronics, medical, consumer, and industrial markets, today announced the appointment of Robert T. Alvarez to the position of vice president of technology.


"Bob is a true pioneer in the field of plastic and metal designs in the medical industry where he has established worldwide benchmark standards in design and manufacturing that will be used for decades," said William J. Kriss, President and CEO of United Plastics Group, Inc. "It is a pleasure to bring on board someone of Bob’s caliber to further strengthen our Medical Division."


Prior to joining United Plastics Group, Mr. Alvarez was a principle and consulting engineer for Johnson & Johnson’s Ethicon Endo-Surgery Division in Cincinnati, OH, where he established and refined core competence in the design and manufacture of endoscopic surgical instruments. Prior to that, Mr. Alvarez was the director of technology for P.E. Handley-Walker Corp. in Tustin, CA., a London based international consulting firm.


In his new position, Mr. Alvarez will be responsible for the engineering and manufacturing for United Plastics Group’s Medical Division. "Bob will also work closely with me to evaluate acquisition opportunities that meet the standards that our customers expect," concluded William Kriss.


United Plastics Group most recently acquired custom injection molder OR Plastics, Inc. on June 5, 2000.
