United Plastics Group, Inc. Showcases Proprietary
Multi-Slide Manufacturing Process at SAE
Process Ideal For Small, Complex Automotive Components
WESTMONT, IL - March 5, 2001 - United Plastics Group,
Inc. (UPG), a full service manufacturer of plastic products
for the industrial/automotive, electronics, medical,
and consumer markets, is showcasing their Multi-Slide
precision injection molding manufacturing capability
in booth #2687 during the Society of Automotive Engineers
(SAE) show in Detroit March 5-8, 2001. UPG will have
a Multi-Slide molding machine on site in their booth
actively molding parts for SAE attendees.
"We are the only company that offers this process
to better address the issues inherent in small, complex
components with critical tolerances." explains
Denis Davidson, president of UPG's industrial/automotive
division. "Our process is a better alternative
to conventional micro molding methods because it is
able to run all thermoplastics, including exotic engineered
resins, and there is less waste due to a reduced runner
size. Additionally, cycle times are shorter and tooling
is significantly less expensive which keeps overall
product development costs down and reduces time-to-market."
About UPG's Multi-Slide Manufacturing Process
UPG's Multi-Slide injection molding process produces
complex, small parts economically and with great precision.
The process utilizes 2, 3 or 4 slide configurations
in the tooling depending on the complexity of the component.
